The Training

Delivered in a focused 2-hour session, the course is designed to provide both understanding and practical ability. Training covers ultrasound anatomy, vein assessment, and needle guidance techniques that support consistent first-pass success. Alongside this, we explore approaches to managing challenging vascular access, with teaching rooted in real-world clinical practice. All sessions are led by practising IV Access Nurse Specialists, ensuring the content reflects current standards and day-to-day clinical demands.

Hands-On Learning

A strong emphasis is placed on practical experience. Participants train using ultrasound machines, phantoms, and cannulation equipment provided by us. This allows time to develop hand–eye coordination, probe control, and needle visualisation in a controlled, supportive environment. The focus is on translating knowledge into practical skill that can be applied within clinical settings.

Delivery

Training can be delivered to small groups or larger teams and is adapted to suit experience level.

Sessions are designed to be efficient and high-impact, fitting into busy clinical schedules while still allowing meaningful hands-on learning.

All equipment is provided, and training can be delivered at your location.

CPD Accreditation

The course provides recognised learning that contributes to ongoing professional development. The course is tailored for doctors, nurses and advanced practitioners.

The training supports the development of practical skills and confidence in ultrasound-guided cannulation. Local competency sign-off and clinical governance requirements remain the responsibility of the employing organisation.
